Multiple Car Crash in Nassau County: 2 Left in Critical Condition

|

A serious multiple car crash left two people critically injured on November 8, 2012 as reported by LongIslandPress.com. A man driving his car on the Long Island Expressway apparently lost control of his vehicle and hit the center median early Thursday morning. His car spun out across the left and center lane and was subsequently struck by a woman driving in SUV who was carrying 4 passengers. Two of the passengers in the SUV were seriously injured and were reported to be in critical condition.

When another driver is responsible for a serious injury accident, the issue of compensation for damages must be resolved. The injured parties can file a claim against the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident, seeking compensation for economic and non-economic damages. Serious injuries require extensive medical treatment and care, and the injured individuals may never fully regain the quality of life that was enjoyed prior to the accident. The costs involved in the care and treatment of the seriously injured are extremely high, and for those who have been permanently injured, can continue for years or a lifetime.

Compensatory Damages After an Accident

In such cases, it is imperative to engage the services of experienced legal counsel from a Nassau County personal injury lawyer so that all these matters are under control and that the rights of the injured are protected. The responsible driver's insurance company could contact the injured or their families fairly early after the accident, asking for medical records or an interview. Ensure that you have your lawyer present in any interview and never release medical records without having your attorney assist you. The outcome of the claim can vary widely, and when another driver is at fault, you deserve to recover a fair settlement.
