Famous Author Killed in Bike Accident

|

Most Americans have heard of the famous author of the “7 Habits” self-help books. Stephen R. Covey is a top seller for these motivational books that help people get their life in order and be more effective in a certain area. Unfortunately, he died in July after suffering from injuries that resulted from his April bike accident. It is said that he was out for a ride when somehow he lost control of the bike on a steep road and was knocked off the bike. Hitting his head he was then rendered unconscious and taken to a hospital where he died last month.

While it is noted that there were no other people involved in this accident, there are many occasions in which bicycle accidents are caused as a result of other people or drivers on the road. Bicycle riding is an extremely popular extracurricular activity for many, a sport for some, and a method of transportation for others. Due to the popularity of riding bicycle’s it is common to see them not on the sidewalks but rather in the roads driving next to motor vehicles. This often can pose as a danger for bike riders when drivers are not paying attention.

Due to the lack of visibility of a bicycle in comparison to a car, drivers many times will make a quick glance over their shoulder and not take notice of a bike rider next to them. This has result in many deaths and injuries unfortunately. If you or someone you know has been involved in a car or biking accident and was injured or killed, it is imperative to speak with a lawyer as soon as possible to seek compensation for your suffering. Depending on the event, the driver or the bike rider may be at fault, and the Law Offices of Charles R. Gueli we are prepared to fight for your case in either circumstance.
